The Drive From Denver:

This drive can be taken multiple routes and we would advise you to explore other roads other than taking I-70 to avoid traffic and actually see more along the way. For example, taking Highway 285 which adds about a half-hour but you get to see more of colorado and stop at Mt. Evans.

The Trail Around Turquoise lake

One of the easiest trails to get there and also is ADA compliant. Also features being able to mountain bike and see some amazing waterfalls, wildlife, and flower vegetation we have ever seen. Flowers, Trees of multiple species native, wild grasses, and more grow around the turquoise lake. The view of the water remains all around this trail making it calm and one of the most relaxing hikes or walks. 

The lake sits at over 10,000 feet above sea level, and it is surrounded by peaks that rise even higher. Hiking around the lake is a great way to take in the scenery and get some exercise. There are several different trails that vary in difficulty, so there is something for everyone. The easiest trail is the Turquoise Lake Trail, which follows the shoreline for about two miles. For a more challenging hike, try the May Queen Trail, which climbs over 1,000 feet in just over a mile. Whichever trail you choose, you are sure to have an unforgettable experience.
